Please be advised that the next regular meeting of Council for the R.M. of Swift Current No.137 will be held on Monday, March 11th, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. in the municipal council chambers.
At a Special Meeting of Council held on July 14, 2023, the R.M. of Swift Current No. 137 declared a Local Emergency within the borders of the Rural Municipality, due to extreme drought conditions and the infestation of the grasshoppers and the gophers. This drought we are experiencing is resulting in the crops burning, pasture land under stress, some hay crops nonexistent and dwindling water supply in the dugouts.
